Originally from Columbus, GA, Dr. Al Cohn is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He has an active private plastic surgical practice based out of Brookwood Hospital affiliated with the Norwood Clinic and performs surgery at various locations throughout the city. Dr. Cohn completed college and medical school at Duke University and the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, respectively. He then completed a combined general surgery and plastic surgery residency at University of Chicago and was selected to receive additional sub-specialty training in breast reconstruction and advanced aesthetic/cosmetic surgery under the tutelage of local mentor and friend, Dr. James Grotting. Dr. Cohn has published articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals on various reconstructive and cosmetic topics including breast surgery, facial reconstruction, and the safety of facial injectables. His clinical interests include cosmetic surgery of the face, breast, and body, breast reconstruction following mastectomy, body-contouring surgery following surgical weight-loss, breast reduction surgery, as well as skin care and skin cancer prevention. He and his staff are available to see patients in a prompt, efficient manner, strive for the highest standards in safety and outcomes, and seek to treat each patient in a manner that address their individual needs and circumstances. He currently resides in Birmingham with his wife and three daughters. |
